This fixture has a fabric shade with a diameter of 400 mm and a height of 240 mm, supported by a metal frame. The purple fabric gives the lamp a soft, textile character that differs from glass or metal.
The fabric filters the light, thereby reducing glare. Some of the light shines downwards, and some shines through the shade, creating a warm glow. This makes the fixture suitable for a bedroom, a living room, or a hallway where you don't want harsh light.
The E27 fitting accommodates a bulb up to 40W. With a warm white bulb, you enhance the atmospheric effect of the fabric shade; with a more neutral bulb, you get more usable light in the room.
